I’m an avid baseball fan that enjoys every aspect of the game. However, since there’s about a million great websites out there that cover the game, statistics, trades, whatever, I didn’t think we needed another one. I think Baseball is the greatest game in the world, but I want to focus on the fun things available to fans off the field. Kinda like a cherry on top.

I have a background in marketing, so I’ve always been interested in the methods that teams, both in the majors and minors, use to attract people to the ballpark. For example, I always take in at least one Buffalo Bisons game each season, but which date do I choose? Tell me there’s a bobblehead depicting the Atomic Chicken Wing from the mascot race and my decision is made.

So this blog will focus mostly on all the great things about baseball that we can all share. I’m talking about giveaways, mascot races, ice cream helmets, and of course food. I want to talk about little traditions that fans have to celebrate their team whether it’s tailgating in Milwaukee, raising the Jolly Roger in Pittsburgh, singing Sweet Caroline in Boston, or chanting N-A-T-S, Nats Nats Nats Woo after a run is scored in DC.

As for me, I’ve been a big fan of the game since I was a kid. I drifted a bit in my teenage years, but came back to the game after my first game at Fenway Park in 2006. Since then, I’ve journeyed to 13 current ballparks, 4 former parks, 5 minor league parks, and 3 Korean parks. Safe to say I’m hooked on the art of the baseball roadtrip. Heck, just planning potential roadtrips, based on giveaways and how many places I can get to in a weekend is enough to get me through the cold winter.

So check back with me as the season progresses to see what I find. Who knows, maybe you’ll find something you can use for your own roadtrips this summer. Or re-live some great promotions from the past. Or laugh at the weird stuff that I come across. Either way, it should be fun.
